Trying to Isolate a MAFia problem( I think)

Post by geartech »

When I bought my 97 Cobra with ATI P1SC the MAFia was mounted in the pass fender liner area with the MAF, Exposed to water and the likes coming off of the tires. Also the red cover plug was missing from the MAFia

I have moved it to inside the eng bay area but I think the damage may be done.
The a\f goes lean at idle at times and there seems to be no difference when I change the MAFia settings. Also the red led's inside no longer light. They will flash 4-5 times when the MAFia powers up. But I can't remember if they are supposed to stay illuminated or not while the eng is running.

Id suggest filling out an rma request form and send it in to be checked out.

Thats not really an option. Car wont run without it.
If it's bad I'll just buy a new one.
Just need to know if the led's are supposed to be on while the car is running.
I've got to do a voltage log of the input and output to verify if it's the maf or MAia.

If the red light stays on while the vehicles on get another one. Very rarely do I see this, but I have seen it before.

easy test, monitor MAF V while you move the Mafia switch around, and see if it is changing the voltage like it is supposed to...
