Yes, the more interest shown the better and quicker it can happen.

Im going to move this thread to the future product request section.

In addition, there are a few similar threads, one for Forte Turbo:
http://www.diablosport.com/forum/viewto ... 17&t=47555

And a bunch of pages on the Veloster Turbo, which I believe is about the same as the Kia, and we have already done a bunch of work on that ECU:
http://www.diablosport.com/forum/viewto ... 17&t=47555

And Optima 2.0T:

Thanks

What if we did do deposits, is that something that would get the ball rolling? How many people do you need interest for that to happen.

How many handhelds need to sell for it to be worth it for you guys? The Forte is still pretty new but between the Forte and Veloster there is probably at least 50-100+ interested people, maybe more. itsjustme lives 2-3 hours away from you guys so he would be a great help in getting tuning figured out if you guys need a test car. One of our vendors even offered to do advertising on his site and is interested himself.

Another vendor, Tork has this in his signature "Home Of The Worlds Highest WHP and WTQ Stock Turbo VT, 267 WHP and 295 WTQ!!!"

There is a lot of potential with these cars and they need a boost in power. Not to bash them or anything, it is great what they are doing for the community but many of us would love a handheld for tuning.

Show how much you would like to see this happen for our KDMs.
Register here and leave some feed back or join us on this topic @

or
http://www.forteturbo.org/forum/19-kia- ... uners.html

We would also invite DS to bring some more information on what more is offered with a tuner vs ECU flash to our forums.
Some of the old school and the new to performance mods might not understand what this is for or how it works.

This is not limited to just the VT and FT we need everyone including Sonata, Optima, Genesis, Veloster, Forte, Elantra, and any other KDM owners interested to register and let DS know we are there looking for the product.

Tork announced that they can now tune the Forte turbo via mailing in ecu. Let's get the ball rolling or many forte owners will spend their money elsewhere. Most of us would love to tune on the fly, go back to stock with out mailing the ecu out and waiting. But most of us also can not wait. If you guys started working on it and said it will be ready over next few months. Many of us will wait. But we need you guys to get started.

we've already started, the 1.6 Kia and Hyundai apparently use the same ECU, and we have already done a bunch of work on the Hyundai based 1.6 VT platforms...no ETAs at this time though.

I have a question, you say that you have already started working on the Kia and Hyundai platforms and you already have the Genesis platform done right? Does a few people that work there own these cars you claim to be working on since out of 198 threads in the Test Vehicles Wanted there isn't a single one looking for any KDM cars. Not trying to be mean or rude but just curious as to how this can be accomplished if you don't have a vehicle to work with? :lamer:

To Rick, I've seen this all happen before. People go and buy mail-order tunes since they do not want to wait for the handheld tuners to come out. Let's just say that once DS does come out with a tuner, a lot of people are going to have ECU's up for sale. Same thing happened with Dodge and I witnessed it personally. We just need to be patient.

14K, as mike said, they do not need the physical car, just the PCM. Once they get everything worked out, then they get a car in to fine tune everything.

I am one seriously impatient individual lol but I also hate wasting money and as tempting as it is to have a custom tune done I am going to wait. By the time I would see a local tuning event and get tuned DS would release the handheld a week later. I wished there was a place on here where you could go and read about how and the steps used in the software side of this for some that are new to this. (14KT) I know some of the steps thats why I am trying to hold out. But 14KT (I know personally) is brand new to vehicles in general as most are at 17 but is learning fast that patients pays off.
