06 E350 6.0 Flash back to original

Post by soundman32 »

U7165 v.9r11 2006 Ford e350 6.0 powerstroke Hi guys. I bought a preadator in April 2010 and the tunes are very mild, but i have read that reflashed engines (within last year or so) may be the prob. I have an appointment at ford to be reflashed to original 2006 settings. Will this help with the possible FICM prob and wake the van up? Also the 6.0 in the econoline is rated at 235hp 440tq the F series 6.0 is 320hp? 560tq?( due to restrictive intake, exhaust and smaller intercooler) with this difference will the tunes still be safe to run? I am not looking for huge power numbers ie 350 hp 650tq in time. Van is straight piped and gonna have to fab an intake, none in aftermarket. Never tow and van is empty 70% of time. Thanks I will let you know about reflash results.

To my knowledge, Ford does not have such capability to go back to an older calibration, but if they do, it will all work fine.

Thanks Sonic. The Tech at the dealer seems interested in what i have been telling him about the problems (like its a challenge for him). Do you know if they can access the parimeters in the FICM and make adjustments? Or do you (or Mike Litch if he reads this) have any advice i could tell him. Thanks cheers

Mike in another post you said you back flashed your buddies 06 ficm and found some power how was that done? Also how does the EPP work? Does it affect the fuel pressure only, then the preadator or trinity does the rest or the tuning? Thanks sorry for all the questions.

We have capabilities far beyind the ford dealer as far as flashing vehicles here in house, so we were able to load an older Ford cal to the FICM. We have done it now on 2 trucks with great results.

The EPP is a pressure only device, yes.

So when will this be available to the rest of us 6.0 owners to get our tuners and trucks back working?

The Predator does not have the ability to flash the FICM and the PCM. Trinity will in the near future likely.

Other than that, we are considering a bench flash option where you'd have to send the FICM here.
