2007 Classic 2500 HD 120hp Program Issue

Post by nextgen03gt »

Hello,

I have an 07 Classic 2500 HD with the Predator programmer. I have two issues with the 120hp program. One, when I try to do a burnout with the truck it will start to spin the tires and then it feels like it shifts and pulls all the power back, lays down, and then the power comes back on. I dont have traction control on the truck, so I am not sure what the deal is. Second, I can roll into the boost hard in second gear, but when it shifts to third gear, I see black smoke and the truck completely fall on its face to the point where the truck feels like it is just shutting down. The other programs work fine. I really like the 120hp program for the power as the truck pulls really hard in second gear. I also am very happy with the fuel mileage as i am getting 22 miles to the gallon on the highway. This is with hand calculating also, so i know it is correct. Please help as I would love to get the 120hp program working well.

Thanks T.C.

Ive had the same exact issues with mine. Ive posted questions but never really had an explanation for it. "Grizzlyoffroad" posted a question just like this weeks ago and still hasnt got an answer.

the allisons are torque sensing. anytime TCM sees slippage it "defuels." thats why you guys are seeing the issues with limp mode or the defueling(real sluggish until slippage is gone) i had an 02 duramax before my 06, i had more crap done to that truck then should be done to a daily driver, after the first 100 hp, i added an ats tranny, about $5K but it withheld the 620rwhp we put to it, no slippage no defueling. i also had 3 chips and EFI live programming done. the best way to support what the predator will put out(120hp) and still do big smokys, is the sts copilot. it will increase clamping pressure about 200% and is good to roughly,550 flywheel hp before you have to add clutch packs and a convertor. just my two cents. good luck
