Just got my Predator back.....Issues

Post by Renslipevol »

Hi there. I just got my Predator back for my 03 Duramax LB7 for a hardware upgrade

First try of copying original failed. Second attempt was successful.

Try to put a 65HP tune on and unsuccessful after 3 tries. So I decided to restore the original. Failed 3 time before putting it back on.
Kept saying it was unable to verify vehicle.....

Hmmm.. I was getting worried after 2 failed attempts.

I double check i havent pulled any fuses I shouldnt have. (by the way, more than half of those fuses the book tells you to pull I cant find anyway)

Try again......Original back up went fast and smooth. The tune didnt.

I proceed for the next HOUR to restore the Original, about 9 attempts before it went in.....really fast and smooth I might add. Truck is back to normal now but what is it I am doing wrong here?

thank you in advance.

After flipping through threads, I did notice that it was mentioned several times that after market electronics should be disabled.

That being said, I do have a PAC audio radio interface installed. I will disable it and try again.

be sure to fully remove it from the vehicle so it is not plugged in anywhere.

I will make sure I completely remove it from the wiring.

What about all the other Fuses the Manual tells you to pull??

Most of the Fuses listed in the Manual I can't locate the EXACT description in my Fuse panel in the cab.

Also.......Its probably a good idea to do this while the truck is warm and bright outside otherwise the Glowplugs cycled too many times and im sure it dropped the voltage a bit as well as it being dark outside yesterday, the headlights remained on.

just make sure any aftermarket electronics are disconnected from the truck. Temp shouldnt mater too much unless its super cold.
