lb7 predator-no boost reading

Post by greatwhitecracker »

I cant seem to get a boost reading on my predator and after doing some research it seems to be a problem a few other people are having as well. Is there an easy fix for the problem?

Well, its not really a problem...the Predator only reads what the PCM sees, and the PCM does not monitor boost, so the Predator has no way to display it.
To see boost you need a boost guage.

Yes the ECM does monitor the boost on a LB7, Thats what the boost sensor is for

Thanks, for dropping that enlightening information on us.

Factory boost PIDS will rarely ever read like a mechanical boost gauge though, as they base the boost off of atmospheric pressure, so most factory boost PIDs read 14.7 psi at idle.

No problem!, WOW! My bullydog and edge, read 1ibs boost off factory. But I was just correcting you awnser on the ECM does not read boost, when it does. The ECM delivers fuel based off the boost

It is better off having a stand alone guage to get a accurate reading to see how hard your turbo is working rather than trying to gather information from the Boost Sensor which only will read up to 22psi of boost on the LB7 engine. I have autometer guage and am pushing 27-28psi of boost with my predator and without the tune installed I was around 21-22psi, more fuel= more boost. Now I do not know the dynamics of what the boost sensor tells the engine but I know there are lots of complaints about programmers displaying only 22psi of max boost on a LB7 engine the answer I keep reading is to get a stand alone guage. I am currently happy with the options and power the predator has to offer do not see the need to show boost levels when it could not show me acurate reading's but that is my own opinion.
