DSDL Keeps "Not Responding"

I'm trying to update my U7186 using DSDL version 2.2.2.7.

I'm using a Sabrent USB 2.0 to Serial cable adapter.

I have installed the driver software that came with the cable.

DSDL has no trouble auto-connecting to my Predator and the Predator displays "This tool is now under remote control..."

However, whenever I try to update the crom from 9r07 to 9r15 DSDL crashes at "Please Power Cycle the tool to continue".

I am physically pulling the AC adapter from the Predator and plugging it back in, but I get nothing. The program just goes unresponsive.

How do I resolve this?

try a different USB port on the PC?

Turned out to be yet another shoddy USB/Serial cable.

Went to a buddy's and used a dedicated serial port and cable and got the CROM loaded.

Then the programmer crashed. Apparently my hardware can't support the newest CROM.

Called tech support and they sent me the last update my hardware was smart enough for.

You should probably put a note about that on the update release notes....
