Greetings.
Just added AirRaid CAI and upgraded coils/plugs/wires/GT muffler. The Trinity T 1000 offers me two choices;
-AirRaid 91 Octane
-AirRaid Firm Shift (93 Octane)
I absolutely love, and want the firm shifts, however there is no available 93 octane within quite a range of my home.
So, I am using the 93 octane tune to reap the firm shifts- period.
Question:
I have 3 areas to adjust timing.
-Global adder (add/decrease by degrees)
-2K to 4k RPM (add/decrease by %)
-4k to 7k RPM (add/decrease by %)
I currently decreased Global by 2 degrees and each rpm range by 2.5%.....
I have not heard detonation but thought I'd pop in here and see if there is someone that has done the same and has a safe, yet, happy medium they have found and used in this same situation.
Thanks in advance (see what I did there?)

Re: 2006 V6 mustang NO Firm Shift with 91 octane
using global spark to reduce timing is the proper way to do this, thats the only difference between our 91 and 93 octane tunes.
There is simply not enough room to have 91 and 93 octane versions of every tune.
Thanks

Re: 2006 V6 mustang NO Firm Shift with 91 octane
Thanks for the reply.. and I totally understand.
Should I "zero" out the 2k-4k and 4k-7k values? Or leave them at -2.5?
And does it sound like I dialed back the Global Spark back appropriately with 2 degrees?
I'm in small town ND and we are looking at 90 degree temps and 70% humidity most summer days.
Thanks
Rob

global soark shouldnt be % as I recall, it should be actual degrees. Set that to -2 and set the WOT settings back to 0.

Will do... thanks so much for the help. I know the S197 V6 isn't probably the "bread and butter" for you guys but it sure is fun introducing my 4 sons to "tuning" and modifying without sending them out with 400 hp beast at their young age.
Thanks
