I have Jeep GC WH 5.7 2007 which has hydraulic cooling fan. I installed 180 thermostat and I need to set the fan set points to lower degree. It seems that the trinity fan control is missing for this particular model. some guys said that it can be adjusted by HP tuner application by setting the fan type to PWM and then set a parameter "desired engine temperature" to the desired degree. the stock setting is 103 Celsius and I want to change it to 95.
I own the Trinity and I hope it can support this feature.

It is mechanical rotating by the power steering fluid pressure. but the ECU controls the solenoids to control the speed.

Re: Jeep grand cherokee 2007 fan control
the fan settings are all lowered quite a bit in the tune, so if thats not affecting the fans its not likely something that can be controlled in the same manner as the electric fans.m_elkhishin wrote:mikel wrote:so is it a mechanical fan or electric?

Thanks for your feed back. the following is a reply from a jeep owner on other forum. he is describing how he solved the issue. I hope that can help finding a solution.
At last got my Jeep's hydraulic fan to now work as I want.
Used HP Tuner and set the low, med/high activation temps etc, but still did not go to high speed when reaching 100 C as set.
Today went back to the guy who does my tuning and found following:
three hydraulic fan types:
1. two speed
2. three speed
3. pulsed modulated
My Jeep has the pulsed modulated and thus the low/high temp limits are not the controlling settings. There is a selection where the required engine temp must be set, then the fan will attempt to maintain this set temp. Fan speed ramps up to full speed if required to keep this set temp.
The default on my Jeep was 103 C. Brought this down to 95 C and now works like a charm.
