What tune to use?

I have a 2014 Sierra 1500 5.3. Just bought the trinity and looking at tunes. Does the mpg booster and the 87 octane flex tune average the same mpg? Whats the difference between them. Im looking for more power and better fuel economy. I am new to the tuner world. Any advice would be appreciated thanks

87 is a performance tune, MPG tune is specific to mileage, no performance gains.

I looking for the best tune for towing. I don't see one labeled for towing. Would I just use one of the performance or flex tunes?

a towing-specific tune is not needed.. you can use any of the tunes for towing...

You'd just use the tow/haul button on the dash like you normally would. That just tells the transmission to use different shifting settings, that's all it does. The engine tune does not and can not change at all, the engine tune stays the same no matter what mode you're in.

Can you at least break down the difference between the performance tune and a flex tune? I can't find any information that explains the differences between each of the standard Tunes provided on the Trinity system.

87 octane tune is a performance tune for use with 87/89 octane gas.. uses stock timing settings..

the Diablo Flex tune is a performance tune for use with 91/93/E85 octane gas.. it has higher timing settings for the higher octane fuel.

the "Flex" tunes are meant for use with flex-fuel/e85.

no, none of the TCM/tranny tunes change shift points.. they change shift pressure/firmness, and how quick it shifts..

you can modify the tcm tune and adjust the WOT shift point rpm if you want..

for part-throttle shift point mph and rpm adjustment, you'd need to get a custom tune done.
