2015 2500 6.0 dead battery when left plugged help!

Post by Crews777 »

I just got the trinity last week and has been great. Besides dead battery the 3 times I’ve left plugged in. Tried changing the sleep setting to 0 with no fix. Then to 60. And still a dead battery, I’ve been leaving it on monitoring page when I turn truck off and let it do it’s thing. Any ideas would be great besides unplugging it.

the behavior should have changed with it set to 0 seconds.

This is not a common issue, especially on GM trucks, I have to imagine there is something about the configuration of this truck (stock or otherwise) thats contributing to the trinity causing this problem, but its really tough to say what it might be.

Truck is 100% stock other than your tuner. No aftermarket radio or anything!. Have had the truck for 6 months and have never had a problem until I plugged this in. It drains enough in 12 hours where it won’t start but still Door locks and everything on the inside functions. I’ve been looking when I get in and the tuner is never turned on. And also I have waited outside the truck and waited for the display to turn itself off and the light blinks on the display within a few minutes. It ranges from Instantly turning off to waiting a few minutes. Not sure why it varies . I’m going to set it to zero and maybe try to troubleshoot this weekend and see what is happening. I’ll get back to you!

The only thing slightly different than maybe other trucks which I wouldn’t think it would
Matter is I broke my keyfob so I’ve just been locking the truck with the actual key I don’t know if that would make the computer act different than with a keyfob with the trinity connected, just haven’t got around to the dealer to have one programmed. Just a idea. It’s the only thing I got lol

My thought is its more possibly tied to some form of stock/optional equipment or package that may not agree with t he Trinity being connected.

My 2015 2500 6.0 will do the same thing!
If I leave it plugged in it will kill the battery in 2 days.
Unplug it and I have parked my truck for 2 weeks with no dead battery problems.
It turns the screen off but it's clearly still drawing power. Or its causing something in the truck to stay active and drawing power while plugged in.
I did a draw test on the truck and as soon as you unplug the Trinity the draw is gone.
I only plug mine in now when I have to.

Yes I did.
No change.
2 days give or take and my battery is too dead to start the truck.

yeah, common issue.. only solution is to NOT keep it plugged in all the time man.. you need to just unplug it... takes just 2 seconds.. no reason to keep it connected all the time anyway..
