87 octane no DOD tune?

I have an 06 Grand Prix GXP. I just installed a new transmission and I set my car back to stock. All I had installed was a 87 tune with no DOD installed. When I went to install the tuner again, i didn't see that option again on my i1000. I haven't updated it. All I have is the Diablo Tune, 91 tunes, and Diablo tune with no DOD. All I am looking for is turning off the DOD only. My wife drives it daily. Am I missing something? Has it been to long since I used the tuner last? Thanks for your help.

There is no 87 octane tune for that car.. there never was an 87 octane tune for that car...

Those LS4 5.3 cars have to use at least 91 octane gas in them... the preset canned tunes are "91 Octane No DOD" for 91 octane gas.. and the "Diablo Tune No DOD" tune, which is for 93 octane gas...

you HAVE to use at least 91 octane in that car.. trust me.. I had an LS4 car for 8 years, 145,000 miles.. . they HATE 87/89 octane, tons of knock retard...

so start using GOOD 91 octane gas, and install the 91 Octane No DOD tune...

Hmm. I have had the car 6 years, I thought for sure I installed a tune that at least turned the DOD off. Also I have never had the “knock retard”. Always ran 87...maybe I was running the 91 no DOD tune. Just couldn’t remember.

You wouldnt know its knocking unless you logged timing and knock.

I was also curious on this subject. I just purchased a Trinity T2 EX, and I own an 05 Grand Prix GXP. I was told by a DiabloSport Rep that there was a stock 87 octane tune for my car. Is there any way to tune them for 89 octane instead? I just was hoping I wouldn't have to go with the 91 or 93 octane because it gets super expensive to fill up. Thanks

no there is not.. those LS4 cars HATE 87/89 octane.. you have to use at least 91 octane in that car... I know, I had one for 8 years, 145,000 miles..
