Is I1000 vehicle specific?

Hello everyone I am looking at purchasing an intune I1000 used for a good deal and then getting a custom tune. Are the intunes vehicle specific ie the owner has a dodge and I have a chevy? As long as it can be used on my vehicle I guess I just need to make sure its unlocked?

2011 to present Dodges have a different inTune than everything else. Prior to that they're all the same.

wha tyear is his dodge?
If it is 11-14 he has an I-1000-DCX for 11-up dodge only, normal I-1000 works on:
