2015 Mustang GT w/ headers - CEL P2004 & P2011
2015 Mustang GT w/ headers - CEL P2004 & P2011
Hello DiabloSport,
I have a 2015 GT (non PP) and just installed a set of Kooks Long Tube Headers - Catted - 1 7/8". I'm also running the 93 octane tune from my InTuner.
After installing the headers, I started seeing CEL errors P2004 and 2011. The car seems to run alright, but there is a noticeable lag in the lower RPM ranges and I'm not sure I'm seeing the gains from the headers. These errors were not present prior to having the headers installed. Is the 93 octane tune alright for these modifications? The performance mods I have installed are:
-DiabloSport 93 octane tune
-Custom CAI
-Magnaflow competition series catback exhaust
-Kooks Long Tube Headers - catted 1 7/8"
I'm going to bring the car back in to have it checked out. Any help you gurus can offer would be greatly appreciated.
-Dave

Re: 2015 Mustang GT w/ headers - CEL P2004 & P2011
that is bank 1 and 2 imrc circute codes and stuck open. i JUST saw this EXACT same thing on this forum. what ended up happening is the shop that installed them broke the connector in the back of the motor installing the longtubes. i bet you have the EXACT same thing going on.
Re: 2015 Mustang GT w/ headers - CEL P2004 & P2011
Matt's got it nailed... the wiring for the IMRC solenoids on the back of the intake manifold is short. Have to unplug them BEFORE jacking the motor up to install the headers. Good news is that it's a $20something part from the dealer and a 10mm wrench, throw in about 5-10min of your time and you are good to go...

You guys nailed it! It was the solenoid and wiring that broke off when installing the headers. Car is being fixed now
Onto my 2nd question - is the 93 octane tune alright for the headers? Or should it be revised?

Hi Matt,
Here is the last tune written and log files you requested. If the logs aren't exactly what you need, let me know and I'll collect a new one.

Re: 2015 Mustang GT w/ headers - CEL P2004 & P2011
Hi Matt,
I had all sorts of problems loading that tune....to start:
-I copied the LongTubes custom tune you provided to my /Tunes folder. The inTuner responded and told me the tune was added.
-I unplugged the inTuner and connected it to the car. When i went through the tuning process, all of the included tunes were missing (91, 93, JLT 93, etc). and only the custom tune was listed. When i tried to load the LongTubes tune, the InTuner coughed up a general error message and stopped.
-I unplugged it from the car, and re-connected it to my computer. InTune read "Disk Check - this could take up to 30 minutes." After 3-4 minutes, the InTuner would freeze and dismount from the computer. This happened 3-4 times.
-I was finally able to get it to complete the disk check by plugging the inTuner to a wall outlet w/ USB power adapter. I then reconnected it to my computer and updated it via the inTune.exe app and all appeared normal. The default tunes were back, however the LongTubes custom tune was not.
-I then re-copied the LongTubes tune to the InTuner, which again acknowledged it received the tune.
Here is where is gets weird:
-I went back to the car and selected the LongTubes custom tune. First, it went and backed itself up, then installed the tune.
-When i started up the car, I noticed my "Track Apps"was missing from the info cluster. Also, my hill-climb assist was disabled, as was my traction control. I could not re -enable any of them.
-I tried loading my previous tune, the standard 93 octane, however it coughed up error message "PCM has been tuned before by a DiabloSport product. Please email the PCM_FPGM0KE_BackupDiabloTune file in /tunes to support@diablosport.com."
-I then tried reverting to the factory mustang tune, and was told by the InTuner that no original backup exists.
I'm including the file requested by the InTuner, however I'm very concerned as my original tune settings are now gone, my traction control is disabled, and I can't restore a known good tune that was working yesterday.
