Trac Control Disabled, Can't re-enable it.

Post by JMH1984 »

So all my esp, bas and abs lights are on and I have tried to enable trac control. Lights are still on. I tried restoring to the stock tune. Lights are still on. This is going on two days now. It was suggested that I do a battery reset. Lights are still on.....Is there any other parameter that would cause the trac control lights to be on?

usually this is a failed wheel speed sensor from what I understand.

There are no codes when I check for them with the intune. Would a failed wheel speed sensor show a code?

I will mention that I have 19 inch wheels on my 300c which were on the car when I bought it. I checked the tire size on the stock tune when I was first messing around with the tuner and it said 27.50 but my wheels and tires are actually at 28.6 and I made that adjustment. Seems to me that these abs, esp, bas codes may have something to do with tire size adjustment but when I reset to stock and reset all parameters the lights stayed on so I don't know.

No, it wont necessarily throw a code.

Ok, so got the wheel speed sensors checked out and they're fine. I was told the abs system is not communicating with the PCM. This means I will need to go to the dealer and get it reflashed or recalibrated. What could have caused this?

Well, whether it's user error or not, it has something to do with the tuner. It'd be nice to have some ideas. I'll find out more this Saturday but so far I'm told the ABS module is not communicating with the PCM and this started the day after I first used the i2.

Have the same problem.it seems the abs memory was wiped from the pcm so it couldnt talk to the computer .the dealership charged me $112 this morning to reflash the pcm.

Thanks. Going to the dealer tomorrow. Was anticipating the same findings and cost.
