Intune freezing

I have a multiple question post here. First off I bought an intune used off a guy and I'm trying to install it onto my 2017 Silverado 5.3. When I plug it into my computer to try updating it, it freezes when I hit any buttons. trying to get into settings to get the info off of it to register the device and find out how far back I need to go on updating. Also I do not know the serial number of my device. when I plugged it into my truck it said may be unable to download due to needing update, but then froze while plugged into my truck. I need some help getting through these problems please. Thanks

That ollld discontinued intune i-1000 will not work on a 2017 truck bud.... that old intune i1000 will only work on trucks up to 2014....

you need an inTune i2 i2030 or the new inTune i3 8245 Platinum for your 2017 truck...

my serial number is J2DNC58-4. Can you verify its an old intune for me?

I can verify from the serial, thats in i1000.
