'14 Ram 5.7 update problems

Post by fbnewell »

Hello. Was having problems over a year ago with my truck dying when rolling to a stop. Was using a custom tune that I had previously installed several times with no issues. Finally reinstalled stock tune, took it to the dealership, and they ended up reflashing the PCM (TSB 18-025-14, flash 1819-06-AY .2) and reflashing the TCM (TSB 21-011-14, flash 1819-05-9U). Since then, have tried a couple times to get the DCX to write a tune. Tried again tonight. Keeps telling me "PCM calibration for (my VIN) might need an update. Check for a Calibration Update?" So I hit the green check mark, and I get "Please unplug this inTune and then connect it to a PC with Internet access. You may now unplug the device and connect it to a PC". Did this, walked through the update, all went as indicated. Went back to truck, got exactly same results. Brought inTune back in, hooked to PC, shows "no updates available" or something to that effect. Have not used my DCX since October 2015 (over 40,000 miles ago) because of this. Need to know what to do to fix it. Can't use canned tunes OR custom tunes now. Not the most tech savvy (have my 16 y.o. son computing for me!), so talk English, not computer, please. Other info on the DCX: Version 1r04j. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just my luck. Oh, well - been without it a year and a half - guess another weekend won't hurt.

And, JimH, are you guessing, or what? You one of the techs on here, with access to my file?

Ok, thanx. I'll try it again this evening.

Did not mean to dis anyone. Just that he had no DS banner, only 21 posts, and telling me to try it again when I already had - multiple times.
