Vehicle won't start

Post by rdnroberts »

I have a 2008 silverado 5.3L. It was a cop vehicle so originally my diablo wouldn't work. I was told to get a new ECM and have the dealership reflash it and convert the new ECM to my pickup. So I did. And even with the new ECM the pickup will not start, I have to disconnect the battery and re connect in order to get it to start. When I install a tune it makes all my lights stay on even when I take the key out of the ignition. I had a dumped a lot of money into this hoping to get it working but very frustrated that nothing has worked. I'm running out of time and patience trying to get this to work. I make sure everything is disconnected (stereo, trailer breaks, etc)

Ive never seen issues with the police vehicles, i have tuned several over the years, I dont know why the pcm needed to be replaced.
When you say it wont start with the new pcm, is that with no tuner involved?
Simply removed original pcm, installed/programmed new pcm, and it wont start without battery disconnect?

With my old PCM I was told I had to get a new ECM and PCM and have GM reflash it. I did and so I have a "new" one in my pickup and it works perfect but when I go to install a tune or even restore back up tune it won't allow me to start the vehicle

this is more likely due to something in the vehicle, as opposed to the pcm itself.
Likely something wired into the factory harness, thats keeping the reset from happening at the end of the flash.
Unfortunately i dont know what it could be beyond that.

Is it possible for a refund? I have considered also getting the diablo trinity. And just starting completely over

You can return it within 30 days no problem.
You could try a trinity, but I cant say for sure if the same issue will persist or not.

Thanks

What if it is a little past 30 days. I'm not quite sure exactly when it came in. But it hasn't been more then a month and a half. Because I've been dealing with this for about a month
