Traction control disable benefit?

Post by Fraginstein »

I've had great luck with my I3, seems to be working flawlessly. My question: What's the benefit to disabling traction control, and all the other related functions? I have a 2013 Charger SE.

Thank you

It allows you to drive with no pcm input regarding traction control, ABS or ESP.

Understand that. Meaning more horsepower, better control, what's the benefit of driving without those features?

no, it wont make more horsepower.
it keeps the pcm from limiting power to help traction. Like driving an old muscle car. Your right foot is in control, nothing else.
Useful for racing, or doing things with your vehicle that it might otherwise not like to do ;)

Hey Mike.
I tried to turn off Traction in my i3. 06” 300c
But it left ABS ESP warning lights illuminate on dash. So canceled that option change.
Is this normal to keep illumination or is it a firmware glitch.

* Originally 12 months ago when I first bought i3 I had to contact you guys and you send an old firmware direct to my computer while I had the unit connected, to run in it because it wasn’t recognising my vehicle.

thats normal, anytime you use the tuner to disable TC it will also disable ABS and ESP and it will all light up on the dash.
