Hi all. I'm installing180º thermostats in two vehicles. A 2011 charger 5.7 and a 2013 durango 5.7 .
How much lower is it recommended to set the fan temps. I have read drop all 20º lower (I think so fans don't run too much and/or to avoid codes), 23º lower (since stock is 203 and new one is 180), or some small variations from those.
What is the consensus?
Thanks!

Re: Fan speeds for 180º thermostat
On my Charger I installed a 185 thermo and set fan speed to kick on around 190.
Re: Fan speeds for 180º thermostat
Thanks!
The stock fan temps listed on my charger were 208 low speed and 217 medium/high speed. I lowered them to 188 and 194 for a 180º thermostat. Still wondering what the consensus is...

How low is up to you, key is to change them all by the same amount to keep the spreads from on/off, etc.

Got it. I'll make the adjustment. Thanks!
Re: Fan speeds for 180º thermostat
The 180º thermostat kit sometimes includes the recommended fan settings. I guess it depends on the supplier. The 180º thermostat for my 5.7L Hemi, purchased from HHP (High Horse Performance), included the following recommendations:
All high-speed fan settings set to 194° deg
All low-speed fan settings set to 189° deg
All medium speed fan settings set to 192° deg
.
All high-speed fan settings set to 194° deg
All low-speed fan settings set to 189° deg
All medium speed fan settings set to 192° deg
