I have had an old intune for my car as long as I've owned it.
(6 years). The car is a 2005 Chrysler 300C 5.7L hemi.
I have been running the diablo tune with no troubles.
About 4 weeks ago I pulled the motor (unhooked the battery) to do a rebuild and forgot to restore the PCM back to baseline. I guess I figured that the married/paired units would be fine.
So now that I'm ready to fire up the motor again I plugged in the Diablo to put in the new tune I got with my new camshaft. The intune says my car is not supported.
I tried to backup the original tune and it says there are no backup files for my VIN.
If I look in the tunes folder I can see the original backup and the "last tune"file.
Why does the intune not recognize my car and what should I do?
Thanks

Re: Lost vehicle connection after long engine rebuild
The intune currently says it's up to date running firmware version 1r04j.
When I plug in the unit to my PC I get an error
"could not get file from the web.cdrom- 1r01w.itf.(0)"
I checked the vehicle info under tools and it shows: my vehicle VIN etc.
I checked the tool status and it all looks like it's OK.
I checked the Firmware info and in the 2nd line is says: DCX Tune Db: missing(c)
All the other lines have 1r...(ok)
I have gone and cleared all of the updates, I have tried to force a restore to the vehicle and each time it simply says the vehicle is not supported then gives my VIN.
I've posted the info.xml file if that helps...

Final result:
Stephen R from Diablosport tech service was very helpful today. After waiting all weekend, I called this morning and we discovered that the
DCXTuneDb file on my tuner was corrupted. Mike M sent me the latest version of that file and once it was loaded the car fired right up.
Note to self: Next time before a major rebuild; restore the vehicle to OEM so at least it will run while you figure out the tuning issues.
