2005 F250 6.0, I2 will not write TCM tune
I have a 2005 F250 6.0 powerstroke and have attempted to install all the offered tunes. It will complete the PCM tune but fails to write the TCM tune. The I2 was purchased used, previous owner had it on a 2002 Lightning. I registered and updated the I2 and purchased another liscense to use on my truck. Followed instructions and prompts. For some reason the first time the tune failed to write it took SEVERAL attempts to get the stock tune to load back in. Since then I have attempted to add tunes and none complete. Anyone seen this and/or have any advice or insight to what I am doing wrong.

can you specify where it fails?
Is it on the key cycle after it finishes pcm/before it starts tcm?

It finishes the PCM, cycle key, writes the TCM tune then when it finishes says tune failed reboot system, goes into recovery mode and have to restore factory tune.

Hmm, interesting.
Not what I was thinking.
So it doesn't ask for a key cycle at the end, it just fails on its own?
I have something to try.
When it prompts to do the key cycle after pcm/before tcm, skip it.
Leave the key in RUN and click ok/ok on the tuner to proceed past the key cycle request.
It will then write the tcm, and with any luck that will get it to finish properly.
Thanks

The tuner will not allow me to skip past the key cycle after pcm before tcm tune, keeps telling me to cycle the key.

Installed just PCM tune, kept original TCM tune, finished just fine. Any reason it will not write TCM tune?

even if you click ok on the screen as if you cycled the key?P38lightning wrote:The tuner will not allow me to skip past the key cycle after pcm before tcm tune, keeps telling me to cycle the key.

Even if I click ok on the screen it brings the turn the key off heading back up, tried clicking it 4 times and each time went right back to turn key off prompt.
