2005 Silverado "read failed" issue PCM...PLEASE HELP!

Post by jamoka3 »

I just received a new i2030 i2 intune for my 05 Chevrolet Silverado Z71, 5.3L, AUTOMATIC 4X4.

I have tried over 10 times to upload the 93 octane "easy tune" i did NOT change my tire size, or gear ratio, but i want the speed limiter removed.
It goes to the tune, and says backing up PCM then turn off ignition, then turn back on. Then it goes to READ FAILED. Also after it says read failed it triggers the check engine light and using the scan tool it says U0107 - LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MODULE .

*Before trying to upload the tune to my truck, right out of the box I DID UPDATE the module as recommended. I also disconnected all aftermarket accessorizes that i know of (the only thing i have after market is CB radio..)
Not sure what to do? please help!
Thanks
-Shawn.

It no longer causes the U0107 error but still gives a read error after turning the key back on. Here are my files.

so does it start reading then fail, or fail in the same spot?

the more info you can provide the better we can get this resolved.

Thanks

Do either of you have an aftermarket stereo in the truck?

I have the stock radio. I'm uploading a video of the process now. I'll post a link as soon as it's up. It fails every time right after it tells you to turn the ignition key back on and then you tell it to continue.

I have stock, Bose sound system in the truck,(factory installed). I'm at work right now, Ill attempt the update Mike set me through email, and upload to the i2 after work at around 4pm. I will report back then.

Yesterday, here is what was happening, while trying to upload to the 93 "easy tune"...
I tried to use the i2, after the update that Vas emailed me, now the screen has a please wait with 4 red blinking dots. (no longer the loading wheel)
Easy tune did not work, either did the Diablo tune, now it says PCM reading... then goes to 9% with the devil head screen , all my dash lights blink on and then says "please wait" with the dot screen, then a screen pops up that says, turn ignition off , turn igntion on, then its says "read failed"...I tried 4 times yesterday afternoon.
