2018 Silverado 1500 5.3l tune not working

I just received my I3 for my 2018 silverado 1500 5.3l, tried to tune my truck and and its telling me the tuner needs an update and to connect it to ignition. When I do that I just receive the page telling me to add a license or to add an extended warranty. What gives? when I purchased the tuner it said it was compatible with my 2018 silverado.

I plugged mine to the truck. Backed up the stock tune. Then plugged it back to the ignition app and had to wait for and email. Didn't take long really. Mayne an hour or so. I have a 2018 also. Been using it for a month now.

2017/2018 vehicles require a special unlock sequence... so what will happen is, when you go to install a tune the first time, the tool will give you a message that "one or more controllers can not be tuned - Contacting powertech for vehicle unlock... you will be notified within 1-2 days" - or something similar to that effect.. so then in 1-2 days (usually within a half hour though) you should receive an email (if you registered your tool on diablo's site) that your update is ready.. so then you'd run the Ignition Updater on the tool again, and it will update the tool with the unlock code for your ECM, and then you'd be able to tune the vehicle.

It’s September 2018, 2019’s are starting to show up on dealer lots... is the secret squirrel unlock/update for an initial tune still a thing?

I will be receiving my i3 today. Will I have to wait to get the email before I can start tuning? If so with the weekend starting tomorrow will I have to wait until Monday before I can use the tune?

it usually only takes about 15-20 minutes to get the email when its all running smoothly. it runs all weekend
