Hold Gears Longer on 2018 Silverado 1500

Post by JEA3 »

Hi there! Is this not a parameter that can be changed using the I3? I think i have looked at every section. I would like the truck to hold each gear longer before shifting up. I already ride around in Tow/Haul but would like to hold each gear about 100RPMS higher. I do not want to shift manually. Also, is there a section where you can adjust the engine breaking? Lastly, if you cant do any this with the I3 is there a programmer that WILL allow for it on a 2018 Silverado 1500?

Thanks!

remapping the tcm for part throttle shift points will require custom tuning, not something that can be easily mapped as a user parameter in the device unfortunately.

Thank you for your reply! Is it possible with another tuner (other that the I3)? Or, custom tune only?

part-throttle shift points can only be done with a custom tune, if you have the 6 speed tranny.

If you have the 8 speed tranny, it can not be tuned at all, only the engine can be tuned.
