97 Chevy K1500 5.7L

Post by ewest84@yahoo.com »

i bought an I3 Platinum tuner for my newer GMC Sierra. after updating i noticed i could add additional VINs for $149.00. i'm curious if anyone has used the i3 to tune a 96-99 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra with the 5.7L. mine is a 97 chevy. has the 4 speed automatic transmission. transmission has been rebuilt with TSB updates and corvette shift servo, set up for towing and hauling. i did do the mini injector upgrade when i replaced the intake manifold gaskets. otherwise all stock. i primarily use it for a general work truck, i do use it to haul vehicles back to my shop for repairs as needed. i'm curious if anyone has used this programmer on anything that old. i can't really find any reviews about it. not sure if i can justify the expense. i've always felt like the tunes were too expensive for that truck for the gains, and honestly over the 15 years i've had the truck it's always had plenty of power for my purposes. but for $149.00 i'm considering finally getting a tune for it.
