Tune for 95 & 98 octane? And Hypertech?

Post by janschiller »

I just got my Trinity T-1000 tuner.
Here in UAE we have 95 & 98 octane fuel.

Where do I start got get the best boost in HP?
I saw one to start with the 93 octane tune and monitor the ST knock retard, acceptable is 1-2, is the best 0?

I also have a Hypertech tune on the car. Should I remove it and only tune with my T-1000?

Your 95 and 98 are our 91 and 93. Its measured differently.

Get that Hypertech crap off the car.

I found it on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating
looks like U.S is 4-5 points lower in numbers. The U.S 93 is like our 97/98 octane.

The Hypertech is working fine on my car. Went from 5.0 -> 4.6 at 0-100 km/hr.
I´ll try with only the T-1000 tuning for 93 octane. Let see how it´s working?

as mentioned, remove the other tune first, then load ours, 93 tune for 98 octane, 91 tune for 95 octane.

Thanks

Now I have tested the 91 octane tune from my Trinity T-1000, with 95 octane UAE fuel! (5.5 sec 0-100, 5 times!)
I have never been so disappointed!

The car is slower than original tune! (4.9-5.0 sec 0-100km).

Tomorrow I will test the 93 octane tune.

(To add. My car was on the 1000 km service today. New oil and filters).

So far my Hypertech is outstanding (4.6 sec 0-100 km), WHY?

No knocking. I was monitoring the ST knock retard before I did the timing.
Value at full throttle 0.01, and between 0-100 throttle -5 -> + 1.

Hello,

Any update on this topic? I can now understand from the thread that in UAE were I am 98 Oct refers to 93 Oct tune in my T1000.

Again I would also shed light that havent seen noticable different when loading my 93 Oct tune, strange.

No tune on my car except the cold air intake.

Car is automatic - Wrangler sahara 2015 with modified PCM.
