Hello everyone! I’m new to the forum, and Diablosport, so if this question has been asked I apologize. I have a great opportunity to get a intune i3 8200 from a friend for free, I have a 2017 silverado, and he was going to use it on his 2011 Tahoe, my question is first, will it work on my truck, second I am looking to improve throttle response, and shifting. Also would like a little boost in performance, and raise the speed limiter a bit. That being said will the 8200 work for me, or is the 8245 more what I’m looking for? Hopefully it will work, ya can’t beat free! Thanks for any help.

It will work fine.
You will need to purchase a $40 unlock due to the 17+ computers being locked by GM.
The only reason to want the 8245 is if you plan to custom tune the vehicle in the future.

you will not be able to get custom tuning done for it... so you can't adjust the part-throttle normal driving shifting/shift points... that can only be done via a custom tune, and you need the i3 8245 Platinum version in order to get custom tuning done..

Of course, if you have the 8 speed transmission, then the transmission can not be tuned at all anyway... only the engine can be tuned...
