2017 Chevy 1500 6.2L 8 speed

I can tune the engine but it won’t let me tune the transmission like I could with my 5.3 with the 6 speed transmission. Am I able to tune then8 speed transmission or if it’s not supported when will the update come out.

No, in 2017 GM locked the TCM down and it cant be tuned without physically removing it from the truck and having it unlocked.

Do y’all sell an unlocked TCM that would work for the 8 speed transmission or would it be cheeper removing it and having it unlocked and if so do you know any shop that could unlock it

At this time we dont offer any options for the TCM, but we may in the future.

Nope.. the 8 speed tranny is not supported and can not be tuned for 2017 or newer vehicles.. no handheld can... The only way the 8 speed tranny can be tuned, is with hptuners software - BUT - you would have to take the TCM module out of the vehicle, ship it to them (HPTuners), they have to physically take it apart and modify some things internally in it, then they need to put it back together and they send it back to you. Then you would need to reinstall the TCM module into the vehicle, and then you could tune it with their hptuners software.... all of which would cost a couple thousand dollars $$$$ - because you have to buy their software, pay to have the TCM module modified/unlocked, then have to buy a lot of hptuners credits to be able to tune it with their software.
