Cable-less T-1000 Bluetooth module

Post by Chicken »

Ok here I go ...... :normal:
I must admit , I love my t-1000 . But ,have to route a cable or not use.
Most things out there can be wire-less and think its a good idea for all Diablosport tuner's. :lamer:
Maybe the near future might be able to add a blue tooth module to my T-1000 and enjoy my tuner more ( love the gauge's) :drivingbad:

Chicken ... :crashing:

I wouldn't trust it. For logging sure, but for tuning, no way in hell. Wireless is too unreliable, especially when losing a connection could brick the PCM.

I had the same fears initially, but its not really sending the file via bluetooth, the dongle is the 'intune/trinity', and you just control it via bluetooth, so you are not sending tunes over bluetooth, but sending a command from the device to the dongle to load a tune, etc.

But wouldn't that still require some sort of power source? Theres no battery in the Trinity or inTune, so theres still going to have to be a cable to a 12V source. May as well be the OBD2 port.

right, you plug a 'black box' dongle into the obdii port, which is the tuner as we know it, without a display.

Then you connect your phone or tablet to the dongle, and use an app to send commands to the dongle to load files, etc.
All the phone/tablet is really doing is acting as the touchscreen on the intune.

Doing it that way I can understand (we have a device that can update and log from the JB4 like that), but he asked about doing it with his Trinity. Thats where I'm not really understanding, because it still needs power from someplace and a data connection.

yeah, it will be app based, no 'hand held' device.
