Hi, could anyone help me? I have to extract the original backup but I get this message (thi vehicle is not in our database, contact your seller for a free update) I should update my CL7140 but can't find the last crom file? (Now has V.8r36) Thanks ..

Thanks so much Mikel for the answer and for your time! Now I can do the update. My car is a Mustang 4.0 v6 of 2009. :P

Hi MIke, I'm sorry, I have a problem installing that file you sent me. After connecting the predator to the dsd (latest version from your site), starting the crom and after a few seconds the screen says' can not load cnl 05 application into stang 05 tool 'and then' this stang 05 tool requires a crom file before use'.After I managed to restart the crom many times with manual port but always to the 28 second (writing packet 2 of 7833) it tells me 'can not etc.etc.'The port on pc devices is the right one and set to the same speed of the dsd (115200). I tried with the driver of the original disk and then also updating it. Remember that the predator is unlocked and is not yet married! My notebook is an old windows7 64 bit connected with usb.Questions: I'm using the right programs and drivers for my predator? My predator u8000 cl7140 is 128k or 512k? Many thanks ..

But... My predator is a CL7140. It's ok? My mustang is 2009. That crom not will change the tune file ?

the thing is, its not a cl7140, its a u7140 that on old versions allowed you to select an OEM.

If you are dead set on using the existing C&L tunes I would advise against updating it.
Once you update it there will be tunes for the C&L listed as univ85mmCAI and univ95mmCAI

Hi Mike, thank you for the explanation. You're right. I've been trying to install an update for a few days but the transfer still fails at around 80/90% and the predator says "transfer failed". The trend is uneven and discontinuous, the numbers flash. I did all the tests possible and imaginable with different drivers. The port speed is ok. Could it be the file? Or the USB cable?

Thanks Mike. I will change the USB cable. One question: I have a 15 pin socket in my pc. Would it be possible to connect the predator with an adapter cable?

if you mean serial to serial, yes, but it has to be a straight through type, not a crossover cable.
