Predator for Ford gas hardware upgrade program ready to go!

Post by mikel »

It's here.

We are now offering a hardware upgrade program for owners of older U7142 and U7158 Predators.
This upgrade will allow owners of these tools the ability to use the latest revision updates on their current Predators, which allows you to hold up to 5 custom tunes, and to use the Dataviewer software for log playback or live streaming.

The cost is $99 plus shipping. If interested, please fillout an rma request form under the support tab here on our website. (Any tools sent in that are locked to another vehicle will be charged an additional $50 unlock fee)

If you have any questions, please feel free to post up or give us a call.

Thanks
Mike

Hi,

I have a U7142 that I bought less than a year ago new from my local tuner.

Are all U7142 units required to get this update, or just units from years ago (first run units) Are all U7142's 128K or do newer units come with the 512K RAM already?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have the latest 9r02 firmware on my Predator if that matters.

Having to return my car to stock means I won't be able to drive it. What is the current turn around time? Do you have an exchange program?

I believe that if a U7142 will load a 9r crom that means it is a 512 tool already.

i have a U7142 (rev.4 board) that will load the 9r02 firmware, but streaming doesn't work - i get a list of pid s and see the values change in a window behind cascading error boxes saying "command not supported" in dataviewer 3.2.0.0.
Also, since changing from the 7r crom, the traction control disable parameter doesn't take, wether i select off or on in the tune.

do i need the hardware upgrade, is there a fix for these issues, or are they a work in progress?

No, you do not need the upgrade, we simply have not added U7142 support to the DV.
You can upload logs to the CMR_DAT program,, and then play them back onthe DV.

Does this new upgrade allow the user to change/raise the speed limiter?

I know, but I've seen a lot of posts from guys who had the newest software saying that it had been taken out, so I was just curious if that had been resolved

I have one of the original U7142s from when they were developed, still running r7r3. I just put in my RMA request for new hardware. It will be hard giving up serial number #139!
