Hi, im looking for some help with a Diablosport Predator. I recently bought a 2000 Mustang GT and the seller threw in an unmarried diablosport predator u7000 that was from an 03/04 Cobra and had not been used on the GT yet.

When I power it up the screen says cobra, and then says the vehicle is not in the database.

Is there a way to update the software for my year car?

Thanks

thats a U7142 for 03-04 Cobra, bno way to make it work on a GT unfortunately.
That would have been part U7146.

We'll let you trade it in toward a new tuner if you'd like ;)

Thanks for the reply.

I just picked up an unmarried U7146 and i get the same error as with the cobra that says “vehicle not found in database.” Also when i try to view the cara vin it displays ff.ff.ff.etc. Could this be related to older new edge mustang ecu’s not being programed with a vin?

Thanks

most of these didnt have a vin, so thats normal.
Old Predators dont care about the vin though.

What is the calid in the vehicle?

Well, if that calid is correct, somehow we have never seen it.
I have support for 20 or so CVAF1 based cals, but not AD.
I know we could add support for it to the i3 platform if you want to upgrade, but I have no means of adding anything new to the old Predator models at this time.

Here’s what im seeing when I try to get into the performance tune section

Is the CAL_ID a code showing what ecu the car has? If so what would make this perticular cars ecu unique?

Thanks

well, not sure here.
Yes, thats the ecu calibration and it is unique as far as we are concerned.
We have supported every 98-04 4.6 2V calibration for years and years, never thought I'd see one we dont have.

Unfortunately the only option here would be to upgrade to our i3 device and we can make it work from there.

Just following up, I learned a little about this cal-id. My ecu has a custom tune in it from Steeda. Years back they had a program where you shipped your ecu to them and they uploaded a custum tune into it depending on what you wanted.

The cal-id is one issued to them from Ford so that it would show up to dealerships as a Ford tune, but not for other tuners.
