Our GM tuner runs this on the highway and recently got 21 MPG in his 2010 3.42 geared 5.3 4 door cruising at 80 MPH ;)

Thats great ,I hope to get 20 on the highway,I just switched over to the mileage booster tune,I will monitor the first few tanks.I got 3.08 gears ,this may help even more.I love this tuner and I'm very happy with my purchase.Built in the USA is my favorite part about it..

I think with the 3.08 you'll reach your target no problem, let us know :)

Sure thing,I will report back after a couple tanks.Stock I was getting about 16mpg,then I installed drop in K+N filter and flowmaster muffler, now I get about 17.5mpg,I hope to get an average 18.5 mpg with the tune.

21 is not impressive, since i can do that too without a mileage booster.

I ran the MPG booster tune briefly and it's terrible. The truck can't get out of it's own way and there was NO improvement in MPG. I do much better with the 87 Octane tune in my 2010 Silverado.

I have run a few tanks with the booster tune,I have not really noticed any increase in MPG,I agree also,I will switch back to the 87 octane tune.I hear a lot of my friends say,Oh I get 21MPG without a tune, then when I get in their truck it says 16 on the dash.Lets try to be honest with our actual MPG,s. :D

don't go by the DIC either... figure out your mileage the old fashioned way ;)

the DIC isn't always 100% accurate.... especially after flashing a tune and the fuel trims and such aren't relearned by the ecm yet....

I can ditto this reply as I compare it to my 2010 extended cab 5.3. First one I tried was the MPG Booster tune and gave it about 6 weeks. Very disappointing. When I changed to the 87 Octane tune, it was like night and day. Truck ran better and smoother, had better power and response, and mileage was better. I haven't had a chance to give a good highway mileage test, but my around town mileage has improved.

I recently did a mileage check on my 2010 Colorado Crew cab. Got 21.7 mpg at 65 mph on the cruise control. I even filled up at the same gas pump before and after (Sunoco 87 octane) The truck is still bone stock and EPA rating is 19 mpg so I was a little bit impressed. The torque converter locks up at about 1500-1600 rpm and 65 mph is about 1750-1800 rpm so I believe that speed gives the best mileage. I have tried a stock replacement K&N air filter. It didn't do any good at the drag strip. I used the stock filter box but removed the factory intake baffle which gave me about 3 times more area to draw in air which it draws from in front of the wheel well. I'm shooting for 25 mpg or better by using an electric cooling fan and using a 93 octane tune. I tried using a flowmaster series 40 muffler on my 2002 S-10. it didn't make a bit of difference in performance or mileage but, it sounded good. I may replace the exhaust with a custom built dual system because this exhaust for my 5.3 is exactly the same as as what GM uses on the I5 and I4 and I'm pretty sure about anything would be an improvement.

I know this is an old thread but I just installed the mileage booster and adjusted for my 34" tires. I had a best of 20.9 mpg and averaged 20.4 on my 26 mile trip home from work. Set cruise at 65 and 15 miles was highway and 11 is rt30 in Indiana which is stop and go with quite a bit of traffic. With these big heavy tires and lift I am very pleased with the results
