Updating U7191 V7r96

I'm having troubles updating my U7191 and I have tried everything I can think of. It is currently version 7r96. When I try the update process, it does not autodetect the programmer, so I tried doing legacy connect, changing the baud rate on the update software and on the programmer and no matter what I do I can't get it to update (I know I have the com port set correctly). When it says to power cycle the tool, I do so and the tool just powers up like normal to the home screen. If I connect it with SHDCom open, it does send data through, so I know it can communicate. Any ideas?

are you sure the correct com port is selected?

Yes, 100% sure. I can connect another Prerdator and update it just fine using all the same settings

Oh, shoot, 7r will not auto connect, you have to use legacy connect on dsdl and set it to the correct com port.

legacy connect...

in control panel, device drivers/manager.. make sure the settings for the usb cable are correct.. com port set to 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.. and bits per second set to 115200...

and then also set the baud rate in the dsdl app to 115200...
