Looking for a PID

Post by Mike_Levy »

Is there any way to see TPS Voltage on the i2? I see percentage, but that doesn’t really work. I had an issue and had to replace the TPS, and now I need to clock it to 0.99V I’m told.

PS: I see the Bots are back. Another redesign coming to get rid of them?

if its not in the add pid list you may need to use dataviewer to see it, or a volt meter.

I would use a volt meter if the probes fit the connectors. They don’t, and I’m not comfortable sticking pins through the wires. I guess I’ll try with the computer. I got time, I’m not driving it any time soon. It’s got no front end installed. Waiting on a bracket.

Mike, how do you like the X3?

Hows the BMS stuff?
Did you consider Dinan at all (assuming they have offerings for the X3)?
Were you aware that APR and Dinan are now part of Powerteq?

I like the X3. Don’t like that it was never updated to the same turbos and wastegate as the other cars. Made tuning it much harder. BMS has been good, but tuning is limited due to the turbo wastegate never being updated. Some stuff doesn’t work for it, and parts are harder to find.

I’ve considered Dinan, but their prices are ridiculous. I also owned an E39 Dinan 540, and it was really underwhelming. So I pretty much avoid them and stick with basic stuff that I know adds big power. The fact that the X3 is leased also pretty much eliminates any major mods from Dinan or anybody else, so knowing I can get 60hp+ from a basic piggyback is great.

Cool. Trying to familiarize myself a little more with those markets as we're sure to get more involved with some of these vehicles moving forward now.

I'd love a handheld for the Bimmers. Probably not the X3, but assuming I can get a decent lease, a G20 M340 will be next in 2020.

Getting back on topic, I hooked upto the computer today. TPS Voltage isn’t there. It must have been removed at some point. Not a big deal. I probed the connector with pins and set it with a multimeter.

Nope. Went through all the PID and DMR. Just not there. Percentage is there, but not voltage.

do you see TP_REL?

Looking through a lightning file and I remembered that was a common throttle pid for lots of EECV Ford applications.

I’ll check in the morning. I can’t open the door to plug in the i2 with the BMW in there. They’re making garages narrower these days.
