2014 f150 ecoboost auto octane tune

any tune works that way on ecoboost stuff really, as long as you don't undo the knock strategy.
The stock tune works exactly like that. Now, you will always get better performance from a tune optimized for the octane you run, rather than relying on the knock sensors to do the work for you.

Ok I appreciate the info… I already knew the ks can and will pull huge amounts of timing out when a knock is detected. Now can I purchase additional licenses on the handheld when hooked up to WiFi ?

Just wanted to give a heads up on experience. I had the intune3 for my 2008 grand Cherokee hemi. I purchased the ford license from the Holley website, then I just connected handheld to my hotspot on phone and when it updated the ford tune/license was there. Moving forward I loaded the 87 performance tune on my 2014 ecoboost, adjusted tire size. The extra boost and trans strategy completely changed the truck, it’s a rocket now. I have a cold air intake(s&b), 3.5” exhaust and a cvf intercooler. On 35” tires it hauls ass. Mpg is up substantially ( due to correct tire size). There is no equivalent money to spend that will net you the power the tune can give you. Ease, portability, and user interface I give it 5 stars.
