Re: recommended tune 2015 Silverado?
I bought my truck used in 2016, shortly there after, I bought the i2 just to get rid of the afm ! Hated it. Put a set of cat-back exhaust on and a CAI. Didn't notice much gain, but it sounds great. Also, found out that you can "tweek" all the settings of the canned tune, if you have the time and ...

Re: recommended tune 2015 Silverado?
I run the Diablo Tune, AFM off, Firm shift trans. tune....I love it.
I thought the trans shifted a little hard also, but give the tune some time to "relearn" what it needs to relearn, and see if after a couple hundred miles if it doesn't do better...or maybe I'm just getting used to it.

Re: New GM Truck Gas Pedal
Hey thanks Lew
Maybe those guys were just feeling a placebo effect when they switched them out hoping for the best.
My truck does pretty good with my Diablo tune.
Maybe those guys don't have one?
I guess I should chime in and tell them to get one

New GM Truck Gas Pedal
Looking for a little feedback about a new GM gas pedal part number 23362231 found on newer model trucks.
Guys on some forums I've been reading, that have the older trucks (2016 or older) with part number 20972082 say that switching to the new pedal gives better performance such as quicker response ...

Re: 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L MPG Tune
I can actually feel the AFM working, plus it makes my pipes sound crappy when it goes to 4 cyl., I'm going to leave it off.
Another good reason to leave it off is by the way the 4 cylinder mode is achieved, by taking away oil pressure to the valve train. That just can't be good? I did a little ...

Re: 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L MPG Tune
Well yesterday after my last post, I was kinda bored, so I got my i2 out, updated it ( I was surprised to see so many since my last update) and took it out and plugged it into my truck, and just for shits and giggles installed the mpg tune with 15% throttle boost, AFM on. Left the transmission alone ...

Re: 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L MPG Tune
My sticker says it has the 3.08, don't use any throttle boost, I do have the torque management turned off.
It's not perfect, I still play around with it when I'm bored, but I think for me it's better than stock & the firm shift tune?

Re: 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L MPG Tune
I have a 2015 Silverado, same set up as yours. Not a fan of the firm shift either. I wanted to disable AFM, one of the main reasons I bought my i2, and to get the transmission to shift better. I bought a V8 and I want a V8. :D

Re: i2 updater being replaced with Ignition software
I have an i2030 for GM, and to get Ignition to recognize my tuner I had to do a complete shut down-
restart of my pc, not just a restart. I use windows 10. Everything almost works right.
Plug your tuner into the pc, let it boot up, then open Ignition. Ignition should find your tuner, or
at least it ...

Re: 2016 Silverado Z71 LT 5.3L DiabloSport i2 settings?
Yes, I turned AFM/DOD off.
Can't stand the helicopter sound of V4
I installed MBRP cat back exhaust....sounds great.
I really didn't see a drop in mpg...If I wanted a 4 cylinder, I would have bought a Honda.
If you want performance, don't worry about mpg.

Re: 15 silverado 5.3 lag between 2-3
My experience with throttle boost is to leave it alone, set to 0, for town driving.
I'm using the same settings as you except my throttle boost is at 0.
I have tried playing around with throttle boost and it seems to mess with the trans.
My truck has a nice solid shift.

Re: 2016 Silverado Z71 LT 5.3L DiabloSport i2 settings?
I have a 2015 LT 5.3L, I'm using the 91 octane "DiabloTune" and the firm TCM setting.
My truck runs and shifts great.
From what I've been told, it may take a few miles for everything to gel.
The computers have a "relearn" cycle they go through.

So, if a good catch can can't hurt...
What are the brands of "good" catch cans recommended?
Hey Mike...maybe you guys should make a catch can system for Chevys

GM Trucks - Catch Can
I hope this topic is appropriate for this forum and hasn't been posted elsewhere,
and I missed it.
2014 - 2016 GM Trucks, 5.3 engine.
Catch can.....necessary?
Will it extend engine life? Will it help with performance?
You read about the direct injection and the PCV system and how the
moisture ...

Re: 2015 Silverado 5.3 "Hard Shift" TCM program inconsistant
Something else you can do...instead of tuning down the "hard shift" tune,
select the tcm modify stock shift, and tune it UP.
