I have a 2015 silverado 5.3 with the 6 speed. I run the 87 tune and the hard shift tcm tune. Even with the options I've chosen, I still find driving around on "tow/haul" with grade braking off is, by far, the best.

With a custom tune, can you make the "regular" transmission mode behave like it does ...

I appreciate the reply. This might be in my future. I'm not so much worried about the small incremental power increase (I run 89 octane all the time anyway). I just hate the stock transmission programming. It really lets the truck down.

Isn't that kind of the point for having firm and hard shift programs? Even if you forget about that for a moment, every other vehicle I've owned has shifted up the gears in a continuous way. Is it possible to know the relative pressures compared to stock that are used as the baseline for the firm shift and the hard shift program?

I had the same reaction. I found the standard hard shift program did not make the 1-2 shift really any better and only really changed the 2-3. Upping the shift pressure made a difference for me. You might try to up the part throttle and full throttle shift pressure to 5-8 over the standard program ...
