So one thing I didn't do is try the second cable I got a loan of, back onto my original Windows 10 machine. Did that, DS Downloader saw it right away and I was able to calibrate the tool and tune my car.

Here it is with the second cable I tried, the first one says the same thing.

I will once I get home from work - never had much time at lunch today.

If memory serves me correct, when I went into properties it said it was functioning correctly. By the time I'm home you folks will probably be gone for the day, I'll update this thread though.

Another cable I have looks like this in the attached. Does the 7135 device itself have to be on a certain screen or anything?

U7135 can't connect to win7 with USB serial cable

I have the baud rate set on both ends to 115200, I used the driver from the downloads section, and the DSDownloader cycles back and forth between COM1 and COM3 looking for the tool. (It's on COM3)

It's a gigaware usb-serial cable, I have no errors in device manager either.

I used PL2303_Prolific ...
