RE: Re: power/grip issue

Traction is always an issue with Chrysler LX cars. You'd think that all that body weight would keep the tire traction up, but... especially with the rear-wheel models... the tires just break free. I had to get some 60lb bags of rock salt for the home water-softener, and had 240 additional lbs in the ...

Not that this is the answer, but I offer my particular 'logging to laptop' experience...

My laptop would only log for about 30 seconds and then quit. Turned out that the USB-to-Serial cable was 'just barely' plugged into the Predator. I found that if I didn't snug the Serial end into the Predator ...

RE: Dodge Charger R/T HEMi....Jba Headers Question!

jba shorties will reduce weight over stock cast iron headers used on 5.7 hemi. Also, they will increase flow because they are less restrictive. Sure - long tubes are the 'best' for overall performance, but in your case (CA resident) you take what they will allow.

You can use the Downloader software to save backups of your tunes to your PC. It's good practice to send your 'original' tune to your pc. That way if your hardware fails (or Predator is lost or stolen) you have something to use when restoring your car to original tune (with a little help from tech ...

I had the same problem with Vista 64 on my machines (I have several, and all now work with serial-to-usb cable provided by DiabloSport). I searched out the Vista 64 drivers on a 3rd party site (can't remember off top of my head). Then I reported my success to this forum, so you should be able to ...

RE: Re: Questions before install

MDS surge will be mildly surprising, but it shouldn't affect your driving (unless you over-react). The first time I experienced it I took my foot off the throttle, realized what it was, and I haven't reacted to it since. If you want the 2+ mpg extra on a long trip MDS is worth it. Around town (if ...

Awesome!!! I had heard that unless your car was manufactured to handle E85 there might be seal problems. Well, at least you've got the tuning side figured out. So I shouldn't be as concerned if I get stuck at a gas station where I can only get E85... I currently am running the 93 w/CAI tune.

DGatzby1 - you say you're adding E85 to your 300C SRT? I thought E85 was 'bad' for our cars. Or did you mean something else?

Not that I have access to E85 in Florida...

RE: Re: RE: Car falling on it

What 'timing' PID are we monitoring here (need category and exact name)? I'm curious because I've always tested WOT shifts for ST and LT knock, rpm, and mph... but I've never monitored 'timing' before and I'd like to see if I'm "pulling lots of timing during WOT shifts" too.

I have a 2007 Charger ...

DiabloSport Catch Can - 6.7L Charger??

I was looking at the DiabloSport Catch Can for the Dodge Charger in the 'shop online' area of their website. They list the 5.7L, and also the 6.7L (??) Hemi engines. You have to go to the 'Buy Now' area to see it.

The Hemi comes in 5.7L and 6.1L, so this is a misprint. I couldn't figure out how to ...

RE: Re: Mobil 93 octane

If you encounter 'bad' gas again you can always add in some 'ocatane booster'. It's the short-term cure for a tank of gas that turns out to be 'bad' (causing LT knock). This will get you through until you can fill up with some 'good' gas.

RE: Datalogging

Yes - hook up the Predator to your laptop w/ serial-to-usb cable (drivers need to be installed on the laptop for this). Run the DataViewer to get your Predator to be recognized and it will search through your OBDII port all the PIDs that work for your car model/year. The PIDs will appear in a tree ...

Oil change lost my MDS (Predator fixed it)

2007 Dodge Charger R/T with R/T (Daytona)

An FYI if someone else has a similar experience...

I had to switch from Mobil 1 to Castrol SynTech (both 5w20) because the store was out. After changing oil and filter I noticed that my MDS stopped working. Never had this when staying with Mobil 1.

Only ...

I have a 2007 Daytona, so it is comparable to an RT w/ RT.

Since I bought the Predator, about 8 months ago I've noticed much better performance (spins wheels easily, accelerates much faster) and also some improvement in gas mileage (about 1.5 mpg average). But that is only half the story... The ...

RE: O2 Sensor - Need monitoring advice

Well, I monitored the O2 (narrowband) sensors and all 4 of them are varying between 0v and 1v as Quick said they should. So this must mean that the sensors are 'working' (not burnt out).

I'm still not sure what else to monitor to see if there is anything 'funny' going on that might make my engine ...
