Not sure if your model will adjust for tire size. Go into the tune you have installed, Modify Tune and, in mine its called Speed Calibration. Check with a GPS to see how much your speedo is off. If you are maintaining an indicated 60mph with the wrong tires size, your probably doing ok with speed ...

We have figured out the problem, I would have never thought the tire size would change my gear ration so much. I originated with 245/75/16 and a 4:10 ratio. I lifted the truck 6" and put 315/70/17 (35") on and I assumed my gear ration may have dropped to 3:73 but after doing the math it actually ...

RE: 6.0L gas, towing heavy weight
I agree but for the time being I need to make due with what I have. Duramax will be on my next option sheet though.

6.0L gas, towing heavy weight
Is there a way I can tune the truck to get more power for towing? Currently I have the factory tune with just a tire size change. My trailer is heavy at 8Klbs empty and running 10K-12K loaded. My 6.0 hates this trailer, I have to run in tow mode and the truck struggles to hit 60mph even when the ...

RE: 2003 Silverado 6.0 tune problem...
I have this same exact problem except the only tune I used was the fuel econo tune. When the idle was eratic I put the factory tune in and the idle is still NG. I was told by a mechanic (but he never looked at the truck so he was assuming) that I damaged my injectors with the tune, he said I may ...

I will try that, I didn't know I could do that. I thought I had to install one of the standard tunes to change the speedo.mikel wrote:That is odd, but yes, you can use the modify stock tune to change tire size and nothing else..

Re: RE: Want to remove my tune but...
You can restore your factory tune and then modify the factory tune. I'd look into some other things first though. Is you air intake ok? Everything connected, no holes, leaks? Any vacuum leaks? Exhaust system ok? Any service engine lights? Use the Predator to check for codes. Sorry, I didn't answer ...

Want to remove my tune but...
I hate my 87 octane tune, it makes my truck surge at idle and the idle is so low the truck is constantly stalling, this is something that has NEVER happened before the tune. I need to keep my speedo cal so is there a way I can calibrate my speedo without using any tuning other than the speedo tune?

It didn't do it today, maybe it was just the computer still learning the tune

That worked perfectly, it's on the money (within 2/10s mph). You guys are great, thanks. Will the engine surge clear up or do you think that will be an ongoing thing? Not sure about the surge, that may need to be looked into, it should not be a result of the tune by any means though.

87 Oct tune
Which tune is the supposed to be the economy tune? I set the truck with the 87 oct tune but I didn't go into anything other than the tire sizes to make changes. My question is... by selecting this tune do I need to go into all the stuff that I had to scroll past to actually make a difference in the ...
