I am trying to find out what makes a email tune better, check out any srt8 forum and you will see guys post that email tunes perform better than can tunes.

I can see it if you had a cam, long tubes...etc but for a stock srt8 how much more can you improve on the timing and A/F ...I figure that if ...

I see a lot of post on other forums stating that an email tune is better than a can tune from DS even for a stock SRT8 (CAI,exhaust, catch can)

Is this true?

I would take out the tune and data log with the stock tune

The new design does not attach to the strut brace as it was redesigned to mount to the front of the pass side head.

instruction on the sheets still says strut bar and show a picture of it...

Purchased a catch can from DS and what was in the box was a catch can, 2 hoses, L bracet and a bolt.

how do I attach the L to my strut brace?

I have tried various gas stations(BP,sunoco,shell)at different tunes(91cai and 93 cai).I have even used 93 octane gas on 91cai tunes.The problem is I get KNK LT retard and KNK st retard on all of them.If i go to stock i get 1.5-2.0 knk st retard(might be at the shift,it shows up about 1 second ...

changed to a 91 tune

added 2% fuel at 4k range
added 1.5% fuel at 5k range

st knock zero!!!!

changed to a 91 tune

added 2% fuel at 4k range
added 1.5% fuel at 5k range

st knock zero!!!!

Got to make sure your not running 10% ethanol gas. if so, I would drop back to the 91oct tune and pour in 93octane gas. If you have ethanol this is what i do to my 5.7L Ram and it runs like a top. You'll certainly have more power in 91tune than you would with a KR'ing 93tune.

I am having:
st knock of 5 on a 93 tune
st knock of 2 on a 91 tune

looks like adding fuel is fixing the problem. My question is that by adding more fuel in the 93 tune versus less fuel in the 91 tune to fix the knock issue, which one will produce more HP?

may be a stupid question ...

Both can be corrected with adding fuel (or at worst, maybe removing a degree of timing). The question is, are you always able to find good 93 (or better) octane gas? The 93 tunes have more aggressive timing and really require good fuel.

How did each of the tunes feel to you? If either "felt ...

Run a log, and add some fuel in the range it's needed, that's what we all have had to do. But it gets rid of the knock! Add a little, and run a log, add a little, and run another log, until you get rid of that knock completely. Once you get rid of that knock you will notice it runs better too ...
