2008 Ford Mustang GT Manual
So, if the user option to disable rear O2's has been removed from Predator tuner's, this means the tune has to be scripted by Diablo?
Lets say I get a custom tune from Diablo that disables rear O2's. Can the tune itself be adjusted via handheld (such as timing) and ...

RE: C&L Racer and Diablo packed deal..what are the difrn
Best guess, the tunes are different Octane rating options for the different C&L setups. I'm sure there's a Street, 85mm, and 95mm "racer" CAI, and probably 91 or 93 octane options for those C&L's.

Unfortunately if Diablo made it so easy as one could just pass around a single tuner and tune as many vehicles as possible before the tuner physically burned out and stopped functioning, they would have gone out of business a long time ago, making updates and support impossible of course. It's just ...

K&N is always a winner tuned or not tuned. I recommend S&B and JLT as they both use plastic inlets which avoids alot of heat soaking from under hood temp. I have no clue who makes what for Truck/SUV application.

RE: What tune to use
C&L has a specific tune for their CAI's. Both of those inlets will require a seperate tune each. So I'd pick one and stick with it. The street inlet is pretty standard stuff. The "racer" inlet is made for a 95mm MAF, which you should have gotten with the kit, it all comes together packaged. I ...

If you can hold off for tech support to address your issue I would go with their advice. For now I'd get a hold of a Ford service center in your area and see what you need to do to get a reflash, and talk to diablo support to see if they can straighten the tuner out. These are the safest actions you ...

Yes, very much so if it's from another handheld. The chips I'm not certain. But if you've had your factory tune altered that could be an issue. I think the predator comes programed to tune from stock. If you try to stack a tune on a tune that could cause your ECM to freeze up and possibly foul the ...

RE: Octane Boosting Additives - any advice?
I'm not positive, but as far as octane tunes I would think the octane rating is a "minimum." The S197's can run on 87, which Ford recommends. I personally put 89 in mine, I'd rather not chance ping at high R's. But the car doesn't run any worse or substantially better if I put 91 in it.

Come to think of it, no. It wouldn't say anything until it actually tried to back up the factory tune and upload the performance tune. Of course, like all computers, if you give it the wrong command it risks getting all funked up. I'm sure tech will be able to assist. It's very unlikely your ECM is ...

I think there's a selection in the options menu to restore factory tune. Not positive. If you can hold off for an answer from Diablo I'd do it, no need to waste shipping.

When I bought my predator for my '01 Mustang V6 the package said it was for '99-04 V8's N/A and '99-03 V6's. I had the same model tuner you have, U7146, but the package strictly listed those years and trims. It might be different software for '99+. But if it wasn't compatable I'm suprised it even ...
