Re: RE: Shift times & Shift pressure

Increase shift time by 10% and reduce shift pressure by 20% and you should be stock.

20% reduction for the shift pressure is right, because you increase the shift pressures 20% from stock.

10% increase in shift time is not right.

.2 shift time across the board.

1>2 stock

Re: u7198 Tranny Shifting Hard

I just installed the 87 oct tune on my 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3l auto 2wd and now after going WOT the tranny shifts very hard. I am worried that this is going to hurt the transmission. Is there any settings that I can change to fix this problem. Like what perameters do you change to smooth out the ...

I have the U7198 Predator. What settings in the Predator would equal stock shift times and stock shift pressures?

Yeah, I bought the U7198, and i'm very disappointed it does not come with data logging either.
Now i'm going to have to buy AutoTap (another $200) just to find out what's really going on. They should not sell the Predators without data logging for as much as the ones with it, or don't sell any ...

Sorry if I was a little harsh, but chupa-c asked 1 question that did not get answered.

"but I was wondering if someone could please tell me what each setting in the Torque Management section means and what settings are best."

If you would have directed him to the link that would have been ...

Go here:

It explains the torque management settings. Hope that helps.

Too many generic answers from a certain person on this forum.

I think "chuckie311" is talking about if you turn the torque managment setttings
too "on" and then you save the tune, and go back to the torque management settings again it shows them to be "off".

It should show what the status is when you go back to that screen. Not just default to off when their ...

U7198 MPH Downshifts

Hello again to all,

I have the Predator U7198. I was looking in the Modify Parameters section, and noticed that my Downshifts MPH were set to:

Normal

2>1 33 MPH
3>2 65 MPH
4>3 25 MPH

Tow/Haul

2>1 35 MPH
3>2 67 MPH
4>3 125 MPH

Is that normal?

If not, what are some good settings for those?

It ...

What would happen if is wasn't the factory tune?

I thought the Predator replaced any tune that was in the PCM.

Once I get the Predator, can I send you the tune that is is the truck right now, so you can take a look at it for me?

Thanks again.

How to tell if you have the factory "Stock" tune i

I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3l. I would like to know how to check if the factory "stock" tune is in the PCM before flashing to the performance tune.

I recently purchased this truck from the dealer, and don't want to take any chances due to the information in the user manual which states ...
