Re: RE: 2011 Mustang GT shifting issues

No, a manual trans has no PCM control, sounds more like a clutch issue...which has been prevalent on the 2011 GTs.

Well it's weird for sure. One person went to the dealer and they put some Friction Modifier in it and it fixed his problem. One person had to have his transmission replaced. Some are ...

Re: RE: 1998 Cobra expected Horsepwr gains via U7146 tuner

15-20 rwhp, 20 ft/lbs of torque.
Wow !, I was expecting a gain, but this 93 tune on the Predator has really woke up my Mustang Cobra. Eventually, I'll make it to the dyno shop and get it fine tuned. I did a pretty good job on my own on my previous Mustang with the Predator but I've read where some ...

1998 Cobra expected Horsepwr gains via U7146 tuner

How much HP should a person expect to get by purchasing a U7146 Tuner for my 98 Cobra, 4.6L DOHC engine.

1998 Mustang Cobra Tune HP ?

Hello, I just picked up a 98 Mustang SVT Cobra Vert, all stock in very good condition and low miles and I have a U7146 tuner. Right now the tune is on my 2003. I'm wondering if someone has done this and how much horse power they gained or if someone can tell me how much I'm suppose to gain by doing ...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Engine Compression monitoring help p

ok, power balance, but it will not tell you if they are all weak...just how much that cylinder is contributing.

For what you are looking to do, a manual test is still the best option.

Actually it does give a person a good idea as to which cylinders are not up to what the balance of the cylinders ...

Re: Engine compression monitoring

Howdy, the Ford Shop has a computer that they hook up to the OBD port which will tell us what each cylinders compression is. This would be a very helpful firmware upgrade if possible. The shop charges $80 bucks to just plug it in and run the test. That's fast money for them of course. Nice Scope ...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Engine Compression monitoring help please

I have no idea how it could be done through a computer....you need a manual compression tester.
Ok, I just looked into what they actually do. See below;

Cylinder Power Balance Test

A cylinder power balance test measures the amount of power that a particular cylinder contributes to the total ...

Engine cylinder condition and/or compression monitoring-Ford

Howdy, the Ford Shop has a computer that they hook up to the OBD port which will tell us what each cylinders compression is. However, there's another test that can at least tell us if the problem is ignition/fuel or mechanical problem. It appears that today's Hand Held Tuner could become a Engine ...

Re: RE: Engine Compression monitoring help please

No, you need a compression tester...

Ok, thought I'd give it a shot. The shop has a computer that will tell me what it is vs the manual way of pulling all the plugs. The shop charge for the computer method is $80, the shop charge for the manual method is $140 ? Geeez, I can buy a compression ...

Engine Compression monitoring help please

1) Predator U7146
2) ?
3) 2003 Ford Mustang
Question: is there a code available that allows us to monitor each Cylinders Compression ? I didn't see anything in the manual that mentioned Compression, but at times it seems it may not be under at title that I'm thinking it would be under ?
Thanks a ...

Re: RE: Suggestion idea

1. Part throttle changes are complex and not really doable as a simple adjustable parameter.
Continuous process improvement is the name of the game these days. Others are offering these adjustments which is why I mentioned it.

2. That would require hardware changes in the car itself....again ...

Suggestion idea

Hi all
I was thinking about a couple things actually.

1. any plans for adding the same options/modifications for Partial throttle including torque converter lockup adjustments? There's more options for WOT than part throttle at the moment for model - U7146 and torque converter lockup adjustmnts ...
