Hey MikeL, correct me if I'm wrong, but when going to a larger MAF doesn't the A/F lean out? (slower air flow = less fuel?). Kind of the same thing the MAF.i.a does when extending the voltage range?

What is the actual code number? Make and model of your vehicle?

Low/no voltage MAF issues are almost always a bad connection, unless the wires are under sized or way to long, or both. Make sure all the connectors are clean and that none are bent to the point of not connecting. Make sure the ...

Unless you put the original backup tune back on your vehicle, yes it is locked to your rig and will not work for anyone else.

Did you run both tests with the engine at the same temperature? Was the ambient air temp the same?

Since the whole idea of the CAI is to keep the intake air colder, “I believe” the ECM will try to add fuel for the cold engine (open loop?). After the ECM goes to closed loop (warm engine or a preset ...

Page #6 of my user manual lists the power supply requirements. This will allow you to run the Predator from your desk (no auto needed).

Did you do any data logging before installing the CAI? If not, I would go back and do that to get a baseline for comparison. The numbers you have don’t mean much unless they are compared to the stock numbers.

BTW generally there is way too much hype about the benefits of most CAI’s. You will ...

Does it boot from a wall-wort power supply? If you haven't got one I would suggest that you invest in one, you are going to need it to download/upload tunes and tool updates. This will tell you if there is something wrong with the tool.

Then you need to look at the diagontic port on you car. Do ...

Plug it into your car and see if it boots to the screen that allows you to save your backup file. If you get that far you are probably good to go.

The way I understand the MAFia is that on all but one of the settings it is basically leaning out the A/F ratio. Extending the 0-5volt range allows more air for the same amount of fuel.

Your real problem is that you have no idea of what you’re A/F ratio is doing. I agree that it is rich but ...
