RE: WOT timing for nitrous

How do you change the global spark settings? I only have an option to change WOT spark. Is this updated through a revision, or just an option on certain tuners? I have the U7000 series for a 2000 Mustang GT.

Glad you got it worked out.

As far as the engine blowing up... I bought my GT with 92k on the odometer. I was worried about it blowing too after I got it, so I drove it like a little girl. Once I had opened it up a few times, I couldn't resist hammering on it every once and a while, and when I ...

RE: 2000 Mustang GT - Traction Control is still on w/Firm Sh

Is the TC turned off when you are trying this?

Also a heads up, be careful with setting the shifts all the way to firm. It adds wear and tear to the trans. much quicker than other proven and reliable methods such as the "j-mod". Doing it with the tuner just raises the line pressure and stresses ...

No, it does not. You can do all the bolt ons in the book for a pre-2005 GT and not "have" to tune it. It will definitely benefit from a tune at that point though.

Re: RE: Tuning for nitrous and need some help

Thanks for the input.

What is reduced TM though?

Just need to clarify, but are you talking about running the "Factory Performance", or Diablosport "Performance" tune?

I am weary about running the Diablo tune with nitrous. It's been great all motor, but the added timing bothers me. The factory ...

Re: RE: Tuning for nitrous and need some help

Id runthe performance tune.

TM is torque modulation, which allows the PCM to limit torque output.

Well the problem with the performance tune from my understanding is that advanced timing is already built into the tunes, correct? Without knowing how much it's not easy to just pull timing and go ...

Re: RE: Tuning for nitrous and need some help

I really need a sure-fire answer to this, please:

Is the "Factory Performance" tune a modifiable stock tune? As in all stock parameters, no timing added in?

RE: 91 To 93 Difference

It can likely be tuned for either 91 or 93. The 05+ models are very sensitive to any intake changes, and the computer needs to be re-calibrated in almost all cases for it to run properly. It's not so much an octane adjustment as it is a parameters adjustment, but a higher octane (93 vs. 91 octane ...

RE: U7146 - older rev. tune question

You are fine running 93 octane even if it was only tuned for 93 octane. At least in my area, they only offer 87, 89, and 93 octane. I haven't seen 91 octane in a while, but there are no ill effects of running a higher octane than "required" for a tune.

RE: Tuning for nitrous and need some help

But would running the "Factory Performance" tune not be running the stock tune, with room to make adjustments? If in the end I need a custom tune, then that's the route I will go. I was hoping that the "Factory Performance" tune would allow me to basically adjust the factory tune to the point I can ...

RE: 09 mustang gt and u7145 r9v03 and ford racing cai .100hp

Do you have a purge kit installed with your nitrous kit? If not, that hesitation may be air in the nitrous lines breaking the car up before the nitrous hits.

And yes, the plugs do need to be gapped down for using nitrous is mikel said. Gap around .034-.036 should be fine. Ask the shop if they ...

RE: question about u7146

That does sound a fishy, but perhaps he rather just send you some money rather than dealing with shipping and the time to get it back, plus he may just not want it.

Either way, IF he does pay for it, make sure it's a legitimate transaction, because that is the point you will really get ripped off ...
