RE: Diagnostic readings question
The Predator is only showing what the PCM provides. So any readings that you see, the Predator isn't "making", its only relaying it from the PCM. Any programmer or scan tool will show the same thing

RE: Re: RE: 2006 3500 5.9 engine surging
Sorry, trying to help. Somone asked a question and it had been a couple of weeks since a response. It seems to make sense to me that every time I read the same issue, I recommend the same solution...

Its still going to be high pressure. The size of the holes in the nozzles is not that much bigger. If you get injectors large enough to do that, your looking at serious money to keep the truck running. At that point you will have to have a bigger turbo, tranny, lots of expensive stuff to support it ...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: So what does the puck do that predator d
Theres not alot you can do. Running higher rail pressure is running on borrowed time no matter what you do because a common failure is splitting the injectors. You can get aftermarket injectors but as far as I know, they are all made by bosch, your only buying a reman injector with an aftermarket ...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: So what does the puck do that predator d
The amount your fuel pressure drops depends on your truck and the condition of the parts in your fuel system. The real concern is how much fuel pressure is ADDED to the rail. Stock, your already running 20k psi, give or take. I don't know how much the puc adds, but alot of chips, including mine ...

I don't think you can load any other tunes on that year model anyways can you? If its the same as my 07, your stuck with only the 4 tunes that are already loaded on your predator

RE: No high idle
I didn't read the link above, it probably contains the info you need. But you have to ground pin #22 in the rear pcm plug with a pigtail from cummins in order to use high idle. And then it has to be enabled either by a programmer (appearently not in your case) or by the dealer

Sounds like an injector to me. Rev it up in neutral, does it take a few seconds to come back to idle, or "stairstep" back down? You may have an injector bleeding fuel when its not supposed to. Happens ALOT

RE: Exhaust Braking
Depending on which engine your talking about, fords do it by closing a plate in the outlet of the turbo. They were designed to create backpressure to warm the engine up quicker in very cold conditions since diesels don't run well when its cold. Dodge doesn't have anything in the exhaust to do this ...

RE: Help cummins 5.9 with predator chip causing knock
Sounds like an injector going out to me. Probably over fueling a cylinder, and when you have the programmer on it, it just amplifies it

RE: Predator stolen. How to reset back to stock?
Have it flashed by the dealer. Or if you have a buddy with a Smarty, there is something you can load into that to flash one back to stock. You have to unload it from the buddies truck, load a tune into yours, then back to "stock" which won't be your original tune, but a calibration from dodge. I did ...

Just got a quadzilla to stack on the predator. Does the predator 7131 do timing? I don't want to run 2 chips with timing
