Re: Low idle problem

I have tested this latest tune for a couple weeks now and its 99% of the way there. This is the best one by far.

AC on works as always. 850 idle in P/N and also in D.

AC off works much better. 850 idle in P/N and about 50% of the time at full stop in drive. The previous tune would drop to 500 ...

Re: Low idle problem

Here it is. I reloaded the tune (did not restore before reloading). Behaviour is the same.

Thanks again.

Re: Low idle problem

With the AC running this tune works perfectly. With the AC off the idle drops to 500 upon a complete stop every time. About 50% of the time the idle will jump up to the adjusted setting after about a second. The other 50% it will stay at 500. I have been trying to test this under different ...

Re: Low idle problem

Since it has been over a month since I was asked to post my tunes and 3 weeks since I followed up I am going to assume that no further help is coming. Thank you for your attempts to correct my issue thus far.

I purchased this tuner for 1 purpose only: to increase the idle rpm for the purpose of ...

Re: Low idle problem

PCM_68298482AF_LastTuneWritten.drg
PCM_68298482AF_Backup.drg
Here they are. I have the modified stock tune loaded with idle +250, 10% throttle boost, Fan temps lowered to 196.8 Deg and MDS turned off.

Thank you

Re: Low idle problem

I have discovered one other scenario where the new programmed idle works with the AC off. As I was sitting at a stoplight yesterday the AC was off and idle had dropped to the stock 500 rpm. While I was stopped the electric radiator fan turned on the idle immediately jumped up to the programed 850. I ...

Re: Low idle problem

just to be clear, it will do this with the stock tune as well?

The stock, unmodified tune idles at 500 rpm in Drive, Park and Neutral in with the AC on and off.

Modifying the stock tune with +250 rpm across the board results in the conditions I have described above. Everything works great ...

Re: Low idle problem

Update

Customer support has been great and I have been working with them for a couple weeks now. A big thanks to Rick Courte for working with me to try to find a solution. They have sent me two custom tunes which I have tried but unfortunately without success. The truck still does the thing where ...

Re: Low idle problem

I am also having this exact problem with my 2017 Ram. Increased RPM +250 and everything works fine except when coming to a complete stop with AC off. Truck drops to stock 550 rpm setting. Like others putting in N, P or blipping throttle brings it back up to 800 and it will stay there until I resume ...
